2018 Stewardship Season
Focus on the Future
Fall is here and among other things that means another stewardship season at First Presbyterian. Every fall we ask the congregation to consider their pledges of time, talent, and financial resources for the coming year so the Session can prepare our annual budget. Our Stewardship Campaign theme for this year is Focus on the Future.
This has been a year of change at First Presbyterian, and many important decisions will be made in the coming months as we plan for the next chapter in the life of our church. We hope all of our members will be involved in the process and will feel free to offer suggestions or opinions to the members of the various committees of the church leading us in these efforts.
Our Transition Team had many meetings this fall and members of our congregation were able to attend and share their thoughts about what they feel are the most important issues facing First Presbyterian. These meetings resulted in many ideas about how we should best proceed and where our areas of emphasis should be. While there were of course areas with differing opinions, there were also areas of general consensus. We hope these discussions will continue as we proceed though this period of transition.
One important issue we face is our search for a new senior pastor to lead us into the future and the next steps in the life of our church. As the Pastor Nominating Committee work begins, we ask for your prayers as they engage in this search.
On November 18, we will give thanks to God for all God has given us as we dedicate our pledges and gather for a Thanksgiving meal in Knox Hall. Join us for this wonderful celebration.
