Sunday School and Confirmation
Sunday School 9:45-10:30 a.m.
Mid-Highs (sixth to eighth grade) meet in the youth room above the gym. We will be exploring questions we and other youth ask about our faith and turning to the Bible for answers. They alternate weeks, engaging in interesting discussion and following their three-year confirmation. Teachers: Pastor Zac Wolfe, Marilyn Hofmann, Jeannine Toomey & Siri Kemp.
Senior Highs (ninth to 12th grade) meet in the Senior High Room (upstairs nearest sanctuary) for Sunday School. This year's topic is “What Kind of Christian Am I?” with discussions based on history, politics, social norms, philosophy and theology to examine what sort of Christian we want to be versus what society expects Christians to be. Teachers: Nathan Nickolaus & Rudi Wolfe.
Pastor Wolfe teaches a three-year confirmation class, which starts in the sixth grade. The confirmation curriculum rotates each year to cover the Old Testament, New Testament and church history, polity and missions. Classes are held every other week during Sunday School.
On Pentecost Sunday, confirmands make their public profession of faith and unite with our congregation. It is a day of celebration as our eight graders complete their confirmation experience, participate in leading worship and declare their faith in Jesus Christ.
Parents also are involved in the confirmation process there are several group meetings, some competitive games, lock-ins and mission opportunities.
