Letter from the Moderator

Thanks for visiting the Church & Society Mission Team webpage! The purpose of the Church & Society Mission Team is to identify and report to Presbyterians on critical ethical issues confronting Missourians, particularly those issues related to our Christian faith and state government.

The Team has been monitoring important social issues in Missouri and our state government’s response to these challenges. The team has identified recent changes in the state’s low income health care program (MEDICAID) as a serious concern and presented a review of this situation to the Presbytery in August, 2006 in Louisiana, Missouri and again in February, 2007 in Jefferson City. Those present at the meetings were challenged to share this information with their congregations and to let their faith lead them to appropriate actions.

It is our hope that many Presbyterians will respond to the important issues that impact the less fortunate in our society. Please let us know if you would like to be on our email alert list and if you are interested in joining the work of the C&S Mission Team. Regular updates and alerts will be provided via this website, so please check back frequently.
