Youth Activities
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is held each year in
June for children age 3 through Grade 5. Children enjoy
crafts, food, gym activities, singing and learning more about
God's love.
Ecumenical Day Camp
FPC leads an ecumenical day camp
each summer at Covenant Point. In past years, 50 children entering
grades 1-6 along with more than 20 teachers and helpers enjoy
crafts, food, swimming, singing and learning more about God's
love.
Boy Scouts
For more than 80 years, Troop 2 has provided
50 boys with a leadership program that teaches ideals
based on moral strength, citizenship and development of physical,
mental
and
emotional fitness. The mission of the Boy Scouts is to serve
others by preparing young people to make ethical choices and
instill values that can be used throughout their lives. The troop
provides a program run by the older boys with adult supervision,
which is the Scout method of leadership. The Troop camps or hikes
every month, including a week-long summer camp in June.
Summer Camps at Covenant Point
Covenant Point Camp and Retreat Center,
located in Holts Summit, Mo., offers a number of opportunities
for away camp experiences for youth in Grades 2-9.
Grades 2-3 can participate in Mom or
Dad & Me. Parents or other adult family are welcome to come and be
part of the child's first overnight church camp experience. Together,
they can participate in Bible study, worship, crafts, games and
more.
Elementary Adventures for Grades 3-6 are led
by folks who love God and love camp. Children enjoy a memorable
week of adventure in faith, fun and friendship. Bible study,
crafts, recreation - everything you expect from camp!
Middle School/Junior High students
experience the energy and life changing possibilities of summer
camp. Recreation,
worship, Bible study, crafts - it all adds up to good times of
Christian growth with others.
REACH Workcamp
REACH Workcamp is a non-profit organization
that provides service-learning opportunities for Junior
and Senior High youth groups. Reach encourages participants
to adopt a lifestyle of serving those in need in their home communities
by providing them with the skills to impact their world for Jesus
Christ. Working with local agencies or local churches, the workcamps
seek to make an impact on residents, communities, students, and
adult sponsors who attend.
It is a life-changing experience as workcampers
participate in activities that build community and self-esteem,
encourages spiritual growth, and enables them to understand their
role in combating poverty. Relationships are the key to the ministry
that the Lord has called Reach Workcamps to fulfill. More
