Sunday School
Youth
KINDERGARTEN AND FIRST GRADERS meet in the yellow room on the third floor with Juliana Decker as their teacher. The children enjoy the special relationships they form as they work on their lessons, enjoy a snack, and enjoy fellowship time.
SECOND AND THIRD GRADERS meet in the "Dove" room on the third floor with Mrs. Christie Kittrell and Kellen Carder as their teachers. They enjoy their lessons, lots of creative art projects, fellowship and movement.
FOURTH AND FIFTH GRADERS meet in the "fish" room on the third floor with Ms. Melissa Manda, Mr.s Lisa Larivee and Mr. Todd Larivee.. They have lots of interactive and creative experiences tied to their lessons and they enjoy being together.
MID-HIGHS (6th-8th GRADERS) meet in the Youth room above the gym with Ruthie Caplinger, Jeannine Toomey and Pastor Henry. They work through their 3-year confirmation curriculum (Old Testament, New Testament, and Church history, polity and missions) during their Sunday School time. Here they listen as John Howland gives a presentation about Malawi and our mission work there.
Parents are involved in the Confirmation process also - there are several group meetings, some competitive games, lock-ins and mission opportunities!
SENIOR HIGHS meet in their room on the 3rd floor for Sunday School with Michael Schulte and Karen Laves as their teachers. They study interesting and diverse topics throughout the year and have lively discussions.
Senior High Youth group meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 pm in homes of the students. Pizza, fellowship and a study time are part of this experience.
Senior Highs also participate in two mission and development activities each summer: REACH Workcamp and Montreat Youth Conference. At REACH the students are divided into groups and work on mission projects in the area, like rebuilding porches, painting inside and/or outside houses, fixing railings, etc. At Montreat the youth participate in Keynote messages, complete with energizers and music, small groups, worship, recreation and back home time each day. Montreat is in the mountains of North Carolina, an especially lovely place where many experience God in a close and personal way.
